Easternwell supports women’s wellbeing initiatives
Easternwell helped to shine a light on women’s health issues and raise awareness on topics that are prevalent amongst Australian women by supporting Women’s Health Week.
During the week information was distributed about important health topics and the company organised guest speakers from Endometriosis Queensland and World Gym to discuss the effects of chronic illness and the importance of maintaining physical and mental health.
Easternwell’s Wellness Coordinator and Accredited Practising Dietitian, Liam Brennan, said: “The two biggest barriers for women not maintaining a healthy lifestyle are lack of time and health not being a priority.
“By participating in Women’s Health Week, we are encouraging our female workforce to talk about their health and access resources to help support their health goals.”
Women’s Health Week is facilitated by the Jean Hailes Foundation providing online resources for information on women’s health. Now in its seventh year, Women’s Health Week encourages all women across Australia to make good health a priority.
Following on from Women’s Health Week, Easternwell hosted a wellbeing workshop to support women working at the company.
The workshop, facilitated by Brand and Connection Expert Jessica Ritchie, encouraged the group to understand the importance of gaining clarity and identity, the value of personal connection, making yourself a priority and increasing confidence in career and life goals.
Liam Brennan said the company is invested in supporting our female workforce to look after themselves as they often manage many of the home and family life responsibilities. “We have several initiatives within the company to support health and wellbeing, including free access to our Employee Assistance Program, a Flexible Policy that enables employees to manage family and personal responsibilities, and a health and wellbeing program that provides employees with educational resources, access to support services, face-to-face consultations and a variety of other services and benefits.”
Easternwell is a subsidiary of Broadspectrum, providing innovative solutions across the social, defence, property, infrastructure, resources and industrial sectors.
