Easternwell recognised at training awards
Easternwell was recognised as a finalist in the Large Employer of the Year category at the Queensland Regional Training Awards for training delivered by the company’s Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
The awards celebrate top achievers in training in regional Queensland recognising individuals and organisations that strive for and have achieved success, best practice and innovation in vocational education and training (VET).
Easternwell General Manager Kyle Koziol said: “We are committed to investing and growing local business and keeping jobs in our region. Through our registered training organisation, we can invest in the skills of our people to ensure the sustainability of our industry.”
“More than 57 per cent of our employees actively engage in training every year for either their current role or for rig crew promotion and career development. Our employees currently spend on average of 14,000 hours per month in training including programmed courses and working on qualifications.”
Broadspectrum Training Services sponsored the Community Training Initiative of the Year with the award going to Gateway to Training in Goondiwindi, who provide funded training to disadvantaged and remote regional communities.
This is the third year that Broadspectrum has sponsored the award and demonstrates the company’s commitment to fostering best training practice in local communities.
The award ceremony in the Lockyer Valley town of Gatton QLD was attended by Kyle Koziol (GM Easternwell Energy), Ben Parsons (GM Industry Training) and Suzanne Strong (RTO Training Manager).
