Easternwell provides work experience for university students

Easternwell provided work experience for two university students who are in their final semester of their Master of Dietetic Studies at the University of Queensland.

Mentored by Easternwell’s Wellness Coordinator and Accredited Practising Dietitian, Liam Brennan, Masters Students, Jordan Lambi and Chris Scott, developed educational resources on a wide range of topics for the company’s ‘Live Well’ health and wellbeing program. The students visited one of the company’s remote mobile camps and had the opportunity to present wellness information sessions to office employees.

A requirement for their degree, Masters Students must complete professional practice placement to develop their knowledge and skills beyond a level that meets competency standards.

Of their time with Easternwell, Jordan said: “Working with Easternwell has given us valuable experience in the corporate health and wellbeing sector and showed that there are endless possibilities with a Master of Dietetics degree.”

Chris said: “We are confident that the experience gained from our placement at Easternwell will set us in good stead for whatever the future holds.”

Jordan and Chris will be Accredited Practicing Dietitians by mid-2019.
