Easternwell provides drilling services for Origin Energy
Easternwell has signed a one-year contract with Origin, upstream operator of Australia Pacific LNG, to provide drilling services in Queensland's CSG fields.
The contract involves the drilling of a range of technical wells with Easternwell's Rig 101. Recently upgraded by Easternwell's workshop team in Toowoomba, the newly refurbished drilling rig has a hoisting capacity of 260,000 pounds with the capability to drill depths to 3,000 metres.
Specialising in production and coring wells, the rig is capable of directional and pad drilling, as well as under-balanced air drilling and coring, making it a versatile and efficient solution for varying operational requirements.
Easternwell General Manager Kyle Koziol said: "We look forward to working with Origin for the next 12 months, who is a tier-one operator with high operational and safety standards."
"We have recently completed two deep wells for Origin with Rig 106 and look forward to performing new work scopes with our newly refurbished Rig 101."
The contract has two one-year extension options.
