Broadspectrum joins a walk for a cause
On Sunday, 6 October, Broadspectrum helped support people with cancer by sponsoring the Wellness Walk and Research Run at Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne, organised by Austin Health’s Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre. Broadspectrum staff proudly volunteered in activities, including course marshalling and handing out bottles of water and sunscreen.
Funds raised support cancer research breakthroughs and provide access to world-leading wellness and supportive care programs, giving patients hope during their cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
All fitness levels were catered for with the option of a walk or run. The fun-filled family day was pram-friendly and even suitable for four-legged family members. After the walk or run people sat back and relaxed in the event village and enjoyed performances from James Reyne and the Chantoozies.
The event is in its seventh year and was the biggest yet – 5,000 people attended and raised over $940,000 to support people with cancer.
Founding Champion Olivia Newton-John was thrilled and thankful for everyone's support and commitment to helping people with cancer.
"I am so excited to be here in beautiful Melbourne with my family and see so many people out here walking together to win over cancer,” said Olivia Newton-John.
