NSW community sets new world record

Preparations for the successful community event started in mid-2017, with logistics needed to be organised such as officials from Guinness World Records booked in, sponsors secured and a pre-registration process set-up.
The achievement was not without its challenges though when, one month out, the Guinness World Records sent advice that a group in England had just set the new record with 541 participants. On the day of the event, cold, windy and rainy conditions meant around half of the pre-registered participants had opted out.
With the attempt scheduled straight after the GWS Giants versus West Coast Eagles game at Sydney Olympic Park, the call went out to the crowd seeking
The 30-minute event itself went off without a hitch with 2018 boxing gold medallist, Anja and AFL Premiership star Shane Mumford on stage leading the through the routines.
There was a nervous wait whilst Brian Sobel from Guinness World Records conducted the final count, finally announcing a new world record with 592 confirmed participants (51 people more than the previous record).
