Easternwell welcomes Indigenous Intern Ina Mills
As part of Broadspectrum’s 10-year partnership with CareerTrackers, Easternwell has welcomed Ina Mills to their team through the company’s Indigenous Internship Program which supports young Indigenous students during their university degree.
As part of the program, Broadspectrum will fund the placement of 10 Indigenous interns every year in the business over the next 10 years.
Ina is from Thursday Island and has recently settled in Toowoomba with her young son and daughter. She is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Business and Commerce, majoring in HR and Finance at the University of Southern Queensland.
The internship is a 10-week program designed to provide students with practical experience across a range of business areas.
Easternwell General Manager Marco Waanders, said: “During the course of her internship, Ina has assisted in the delivery of a number of projects, including automating aspects of management reporting, reallocating journey management delegations, developing and reviewing procedure manuals and administering employee paperwork such as time sheets.”
“Ina has become an integral part of our Crew Logistics team contributing meaningfully to business improvement outcomes. It has been a very positive experience for everyone involved and we look forward to continuing to work with Ina throughout her internship.”
Broadspectrum has worked with CareerTrackers since 2011.
