Easternwell recognised at training awards

Easternwell won the Darling Downs South West Large Employer of the Year at the Queensland Training Awards for its commitment to provide industry specific training for employees in the resources industry.

The awards celebrate top achievers in training in Queensland recognising individuals and organisations that strive for and have achieved success, best practice and innovation in vocational education and training (VET).

Easternwell General Manager Kyle Koziol said: “We are committed to investing and growing local business and keeping jobs in our region. Through our registered training organisation we can invest in the skills of our people to ensure the sustainability of our industry.”

“More than 58 per cent of our employees engage in training every year for either their current role or for rig crew promotion and career development. Our employees currently spend on average 14,000 hours per month in training including programmed courses and working on qualifications.”

Brad Kendrick from Broadspectrum Training Services was also recognised as a finalist for Darling Downs and South West Trainer of the Year.

Easternwell provides drilling, well servicing and camp management services to the mining, minerals and oil and gas industries, and is a subsidiary of Broadspectrum.
