Easternwell achieves top result for food safety

Broadspectrum’s subsidiary, Easternwell, has again received an A-rating for its annual HACCP food safety audit making it the second year in a row the company has achieved the top score since becoming certified in 2014.

This year, Easternwell also elected to be audited in relation to allergens, an emerging risk in the food industry, and was also rated A in its first year for the protective measures it has in place.

Easternwell has worked with HACCP Australia for five years to ensure we provide the highest standard of food safety in our remote camps.

Easternwell General Manager Marco Waanders said: “Since our first certification in 2014, year on year we have seen improvements in food safety standards across our remote mobile camps, with this year’s results being the best yet.”

“Even though the industry average is rated B, our teams are focused on providing the highest standard in food safety for our people who rely on our camps as their home away from home.”

HACCP Australia is a highly specialised project management company with its sole activity being the provision of technically qualified personnel and services to the food industry. Their purpose is to identify and manage hazards, reducing the risks of food contamination through the development, implementation and ongoing operation of comprehensive, HACCP based food safety programs.
