This Wednesday, 8 March, is International Women’s Day (IWD), and Broadspectrum is taking part in the day’s celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women.

Broadspectrum sites across Australia will be hosting events to recognise and appreciate colleagues who are taking up the challenge to make a difference.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Fidel Lopez, said: “At Broadspectrum, we view fostering a diverse and inclusive culture across the business as critical for our Company’s performance, and for the quality of services we provide to our clients.”

“International Women’s Day offers us the opportunity to reflect on the progress we have made to date, and to confirm and recommit to our pledge to lead the way in valuing difference and diversity in everything that we do.”

“We will continue our efforts to increase the Company’s global female participation, and increase the number of female leaders in our organisation.”

While Broadspectrum is making strides on the road to gender equality, there is more to do to achieve our goals. Our Diversity and Inclusion Framework guides our initiatives and we have successfully embedded a number of new programs over the past year.

  • Our #SpectrumGrad program has successfully attracted a 50/50 gender mix across all disciplines in its first ever intake.
  • The launch of our Creating Inclusion Award saw the recognition of Petula Freese-Chadwick, National Contact Centre Manager, for her courageous and vocal ambassadorship for inclusion, at the company’s third annual Awards night in November 2016.
  • We continue to be committed to Chief Executive Women as a sponsor, and have senior women participating in their Leaders Program this year – our third group – which supports our goals of developing and retaining talented women leaders.
  • By celebrating International Women’s Day, Broadspectrum demonstrates its commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the company.
