Broadspectrum shines at WA Work Safety Awards

Broadspectrum was presented with a Finalist award for ‘Best Initiative to Encourage Worker Engagement in Safety and Health’ at the Western Australia Work Safety Awards breakfast.

The WA Worksafe Awards recognise outstanding occupational health and safety management, solutions and innovation across Western Australian workplaces. Broadspectrum’s Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) representatives Zara Jastremski and Vanessa Como received the finalist recognition in ‘Best Initiative to Encourage Worker Engagement in Safety and Health’, which acknowledges organisations that have developed a significant safety and health awareness campaign in their workplace.

To be chosen as a finalist, nominees were required to demonstrate originality and innovation, participation across the workplace and tangible benefits for employees. Broadspectrum was one of three finalists in this category, awarded for the organisation’s Mental Health Check-In initiative, which assisted more than 700 employees and contractors to review their mental health status. During the process, each participant received an individualised program for making positive improvements, and were offered professional support where needed.

Broadspectrum was the only finalist to focus specifically on mental health, highlighting the organisation’s emphasis on employees’ and contractors’ overall wellbeing, which has been recognised by industry peers as best practice.

Broadspectrum’s HSE Executive Manager, Bids, Transitions and Systems, Zara Jastremski, accepts the finalist award.
