Nexus Consortium selected as preferred tenderer for Toowoomba Second Range Crossing

The Nexus Consortium, which comprises Transfield Services and partners, has been selected by the Queensland Government as preferred tenderer to deliver the $1.6 billion Toowoomba Second Range Crossing project.

The consortium, which also includes Plenary Group, Cintra Infraestructuras Internacional S.A., Acciona Concesiones S.L., Acciona Infrastructure Australia and Ferrovial Agroman Australia, will provide a world class road design, construction, operations and maintenance solution.

Transfield Services’ scope of work includes operations and maintenance services to the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing commencing upon construction completion, expected to be in late 2018.

Transfield Services’ Managing Director and CEO, Graeme Hunt, said: “The selection of Transfield Services as part of this consortium endorses our position as a leading operations and maintenance services provider for transport infrastructure. This long term partnership with the Queensland Government will provide a strong and expanding revenue base for our infrastructure business and we look forward to delivering a positive outcome for our client and all stakeholders.”

Transfield Services, as part of the Nexus Consortium, will now work closely with the Queensland Government to finalise contractual documentation. Construction is expected to commence in late 2015.

Transfield Services provide integrated solutions for road network management and operations supporting 17,200 lane kilometres across over 30 road infrastructure assets in Australia, New Zealand, United States and Canada.
