Mobil and Transfield Services join forces to help local secondary students
Through the program, students will benefit from having access to the wealth of experience and knowledge that Mobil and Transfield Services employees have gained by working at the refinery.
“Mobil Altona Refinery has a long history of supporting local schools, particularly in the areas of maths and science education. The Young Ambassadors for Industry program takes this support to a whole new level,” said Mobil Altona Refinery Manager, Andrew Warrell.
“By directly involving the people of Altona Refinery in sharing their experience and knowledge, I hope we can really make a difference in the lives of local students at a time when they are making important decisions about their study and career options.”
Through a series of events during the year, Mobil and Transfield Services employees will interact directly with local students, exposing them to the vast range of exciting career opportunities in the oil and gas industry.
“It’s fantastic to partner with our client Mobil Altona Refinery, and the local community to establish this important program,” said Transfield Services’ Chief Executive of Resources and Energy, Joe Sofra.
“We hope that the experience gained by the students will help with their eventual transition into the workforce.”
