Connecting our workforce proves mutually beneficial
Our NSW Schools contract team has developed the Broadspectrum Mobile App, which helps employees in their day-to-day service delivery, improve causal workforce management and resolve operational issues, all in the palm of their hand.
Operating the app
The Broadspectrum Mobile App, designed from the ground up and based on the feedback from our own team members, offers convenience and accessibility for all employees, improving communication and sharing of information – including videos and images – to resolve daily issues.
The app allows our employees to report hazards and equipment failures, with the ability to upload photos on site and send them instantly to supervisors. It also provides information on up-to-date short-term vacancies, and casual staff can identify the availability of work shifts and fill them quicker. Once deployed to site, employees can download maps and tools to better understand site requirements and service delivery needs.
The app also allows access to useful information such as daily work schedules, training videos, site maps, directions to the site, newsletter updates, noticeboard alerts and toolbox talks, school holiday calendar, safety info and compliance details.
What it means
Executive General Manager, Facilities Management and Health, Tim Ryerson, is excited about this new initiative: "With such a large geographical area across NSW, serving 1,300 sites, involving a workforce of more than 3,000 individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, effective communication has always been one of the team's greatest challenges. This brilliant innovation can effectively connect with so many people in different locations using a tool we all carry."
The App is available on iPhone, iPad, and Android, and its intuitive dashboard allows users to locate information quickly and easily. Access is only provided to on-boarded employees with a secure username and password.
