Broadspectrum’s latest graduate program has kicked off for 2017, with 10 recent university graduates from all over the country joining us in varying roles for the next two years.
The #spectrumgrads finished their first day by demonstrating the company’s four key values – integrity, collaboration, challenge and ingenuity – at OzHarvest. Their culinary skills were put to the test as they transformed surplus food collected from local vendors into meals for donation.
Since its inception in November 2004, OzHarvest has transformed otherwise discarded food into approximately 59 million meals for the less fortunate. Through teamwork and creativity, Broadspectrum’s graduates contributed to the cause by creating five different dishes and 120 serves. The menu included lamb kofta, beef filos and an eggplant salad – an amazing feat considering the ingredients used would have once been thrown in the bin!
The graduates bonded while considering Australia’s gross overconsumption and learning new techniques in the kitchen. It was a memorable activity and a great way to commence their Broadspectrum journey.
