Tom Quinn

Tom was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer on 1 December 2018.

He joined the company in 2016 as Chief Executive, Resources.

Prior to joining Broadspectrum, Tom was Group Vice President of Jacob’s North American Upstream and Midstream business in Canada, managing 7,000 employees. He has more than 30 years of experience working in Australia, the Asia Pacific, and North and South America, including as Managing Director, Aker Solutions in Australia, and Director of Operations, Fluor Corporation.

Tom’s depth of experience globally includes working in engineering, construction and maintenance enterprises across the manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, food, and chemical industries.

His expertise includes leading enterprises underpinned by sustainable and strategic decision-making, acute tactical planning and implementation, while influencing brand marketing and building strong customer relationships.

 

Derek Osborn

Chief Executive, Defence and Social Infrastructure
Bachelor of Environmental Design (Hons)
Master of Building Science

Derek is responsible for the strategic growth and delivery of our services to the defence and social infrastructure sectors, including education, health, housing and justice.

With more than 13 year experience at Broadspectrum, Derek has held leadership roles in the mining, defence and property sectors. He is also a member of our Indigenous Advisory Board and is responsible for leading our innovation practice across the globe.

 

Ian Maxted

Chief Development Officer
Bachelor of Engineering (Hons)

Ian has had more than 30 years' experience across the property, development and infrastructure industries.

As Chief Development Officer, Ian's primary focus is on business growth to maximise company value. Ian has leadership of Broadspectrum’s Property and New Markets business, including our corporate real estate offering and the Waste and Maritime industries, as well as the company’s community engagement, Indigenous participation, marketing, commercial, estimating and proposals teams.

He is also been on the Board of peak industry body, the Asset Management Council, since 2012. Ian has previously lead the development and operations of our Property, Defence, Social and Asset Management businesses and was previously Chief Executive Officer at APP Corporation. He has also worked for government, developers and contractors.

 

Tim Phelan

Chief Executive, Resources

Tim was appointed Chief Executive, Resources on 14 December 2018.

He first joined the company in 2002 and has held a number of senior positions including Executive Manager Development, General Manager Sustaining Projects and General Manager Strategy and Development across Australia and in the Americas business.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Resources, Tim led our Operations North and Easternwell business, and led the team to successfully build a platform for long term contracts with key customers including Shell/QGC, BHP and Chevron. He has also led the establishment of the Centre of Excellence for Natural Resources and actively supports our Elevate Reconciliation Action Plan as a member of our Indigenous Advisory Board.

Tim’s commitment to prioritise safety, people and customer service backed by his commercial discipline and company experience is integral to our continued growth across the oil and gas, mining and industrial sectors.

 

Peter Richardson

Chief Executive, Transport

Peter is responsible for the strategic growth and delivery of our services to the roads, rail and public transport industries.

Peter has more than 30 years' experience in developing and leading successful transport infrastructure businesses both in Australia and internationally. He joins us from Amey Consulting Australia, where he has spent the past four years as Territory Business Director. Prior to moving to Australia, Peter was Amey's (UK) Business Director for Local Government. He has also held a number of senior executive roles in the UK, including eight years as Director of Infrastructure Services, with a major UK Transport Contractor.

 

DOMENIC DE FAZIO

Chief Executive, Urban Infrastructure

Domenic is responsible for the strategic growth and delivery of our services to the water, electrical and power, construction and telecommunications industries.

Domenic’s experience includes 17 years at Fulton Hogan, and prior to that, eight years at Transfield. He was most recently CEO, NZ Construction at Fulton Hogan, where he was responsible for all facets of Fulton Hogan’s construction business in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, including a Board Role on the Kaikoura Earthquake Recovery Project. He brings senior management experience across a range of disciplines including projects, civil, operations, alliances and engineering. He joined Broadspectrum in June 2018 to lead our growth in the Infrastructure sector.

 

Karen O'Driscoll

Group Director, Digital Services
Bachelor of Science (Hons) Business Information Systems

Karen O’Driscoll was appointed Group Director, Digital Services on 1 December 2018.

Karen joined the company in 2007. She has held several senior roles in the company’s technology business, which has included responsibility for transitioning technological solutions for key contracts in water, roads, rail, power, social, defence and telecommunications.

Prior to joining Broadspectrum, Karen spent four years with Glaxo SmithKline delivering technology transformation programs supporting manufacturing and international supply chain operations across Europe and the United States.

Karen’s ability to build diverse teams and combine secure enterprise systems with flexible innovation platforms enables us to continually deliver improved outcomes for our clients. She will continue to leverage our essential technology platforms and applications to enable us to be efficient and innovative, and be a market-leading services company.

 

NICK SUTHERLAND

Chief Financial Officer

Nick was appointed Chief Financial Officer on 18 November 2019. He leads the company’s financial strategy and policy, financial and management reporting, treasury and taxation.

Nick joined Broadspectrum in 2011 as General Manager, Taxation and Treasury, adding Investor Relations to his portfolio in 2013. In 2015, he was appointed Executive General Manager, Group Finance, and then Deputy Chief Financial Officer in 2017.

Prior to joining Broadspectrum, Nick held various finance and treasury roles at Goodman Fielder, Westfield Group, Origin Energy and CSR.

 

Angelique Nesbitt

Group Director – Legal, Risk and Governance

Angelique is the Group Director, Legal, Risk and Governance with responsibility for advising the Board and senior management on governance and legal matters. She is also responsible for the Group’s global compliance program and legal function.

Angelique joined the Company in 2005 and has more than 20 years of experience working with and advising companies in relation to infrastructure project, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, corporate law and governance.

 

Sam Toppenberg

Group Director, People and Culture

Sam Toppenberg was appointed Group Director, People and Culture on 2 September 2019.

Sam provides strategic advice and support in organisational development, human resources systems, employee relations, performance development, recruitment, remuneration, and internal and external communications. Her expertise enables us to develop our systems and culture to improve business performance and increase employee engagement.

Her previous leadership roles and more than 20 years of global experience will continue to enable our people to reach their full career potential. Prior to joining Broadspectrum, Sam was Executive General Manager, Human Resources, Health, Safety and Communications at Holcim Australia and New Zealand; Executive General Manager, Human Resources and HSE at Adelaide Brighton; and Global Manager, Organisational Behaviour at Southcorp Limited.
